Sometimes I get stuck and I can't figure out what to do in the Studio. And then someone sends me a gif of a Rainbow Barfing Rainbows and it turns into a whole other thing that I'd never looked into before! Why not use gifs as a medium to sketch out quilts or collages?! Below are my first sketches using gifs. Turns out it takes just as long to make one of these sketches as it would had I actually finished the projects that I was working on originally. What I did figure out though, is that I own enough different textiles/scraps to be able to make most of the ideas come to life. Who buys 30 yards of variously striped rainbow fabrics on Ebay? Or fabric featuring Sea Turtles,...or Song Birds? ... Or Tree Frogs or Algebra.... I'm a little short for time, but never short for Inspiration! The soundtrack for these sketches is Stereolab's Transient Random-Noise Bursts With Announcements. And a very special Thank You to all of the Creators of these Gifs!
