I am always on the hunt for new DIY inspiration, and now that we are entering into the rainy season I am ready to tackle some new projects. Here are a few things I might be working on in the next couple of weeks. I will make sure to share the final product with you...if they turn out half way decent ;) If you are looking for more ideas, check out my DIY Projects board on Pinterest

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XAD29QRr0oo The Vancouver store opening was definitely a new experience for me for many reasons. First, it was a flagship opening so everything was definitely elevated from visual elements, product assortment, and events. Second, I wasn't working in all of my usual areas. I supported the Kids division, but I also worked in Handbags and Women's/BP shoes. I learned A LOT about riser recipes these past weeks :) Words cannot describe how beautiful this store is, I seriously could have spent an entire day taking pictures of all the amazing moments. Unfortunately we did not have time to do that, so here is just a sampling of some of my favorite moments from the areas I support. Enjoy! Those of you who have been in the NW region for a while will probably remember the wonderful Christina Lonsdale. She worked in both the Southern Cal and NW region as a brilliant stylist and was the NW BP/Kids Regional Stylist Trainer. Like many people in the visual world her creativity extended beyond the work at the store, and a couple of years ago she left the Nordstrom visual world and went after her passion full time.
That is when she started Radiant Human. A roving, fully adaptable aura photography laboratory that captures your aura in a polaroid photograph. She is still based out of Portland, Oregon but travels with her aura laboratory all over the nation. She has gained quite a following in a short time and has been featured on Huffington Post as well as Gwyneth Paltrow's website Goop, and just recently in a fun turn of events has ended up back in the fashion world. This past weekend she was featured in the October Harper's Bazaar photographing some of fashions biggest names from Alexander Wang to DVF. When you get a chance check out her website and definitely take a look at her article in Harper's Bazaar. http://www.radianthuman.com It has been a whirlwind getting the Vancouver store ready for the opening this Friday, but it has been such an amazing experience both in and outside of the store. The city of Vancouver has so much to offer from food, art, and especially shopping. Even after the long days we have found some time to go out and about, and here are a few of my favorites I have discovered so far. "Used House of Vintage" Store They have everything you could imagine and more. The selection of dresses and jackets was amazing, and there was a whole small room dedicated to just sequin apparel. Yes please! It was well organized and very well priced. If you are ever in Vancouver and strolling down Robson street, you have to check it out! The "Gallery Cafe" at the Vancouver Art Gallery Tucked away in the Vancouver Art Gallery is a wonderful garden oasis that is actually a little cafe. Cute little tables are surrounded by flowers with classical music playing in the background. With lots of fun little food choices at a great price, this place quickly became a VM favorite for lunch. Nordstrom Of course if you are ever visiting Vancouver your first stop needs to be this amazing flagship store. I cannot wait to share more pictures and tell you all about this store. It is OUT OF THIS WORLD! I actually started to cry as I first walked the store as it was so beautiful (I know, I am a dork). It truly can't be described in words, you have to see it for yourself.
Do you remember what your first day of school was like? What you wore, your teacher's name, the friends you made? I thought this sweet video perfectly captures the excitement of a 6 year old girl as she embarks on her very first day of school thanks to a GoPro and video footage from her parents. I apologize to non Taylor Swift fans (like myself) as it is her song in the background, but it actually is very fitting for this adorable moment. Enjoy!

When you get a chance check out her Instagram account called "socalitybarbie". She is a true NW girl from her hikes in the forest, wrapping herself in a blanket at the beach, and magazine reading at the local coffee shop. If you want a good chuckle, check it out. Here is an article about her on Vogue:
